A Brief History of Solacity Inc.

Solacity was founded in January of 2006 to provide the Canadian market with renewable energy products. We started by bringing Eoltec wind turbines to Canada, and have since grown to provide wholesale and retail products, and engineering solutions to both the United States and Canadian markets. We continue to work hard to grow our business through personal relationships with our customers. This is not a faceless corporation; we strongly believe in one-on-one contact with our most important resource - you - the customer.

The founder and president of Solacity, Rob Beckers, is an engineer with a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering and a Master's in Biomedical Engineering. Rob started his first business at age 9 (repairing small household appliances for friends and family) and has not stopped being an entrepreneur ever since. After running a number of very successful software companies for 23 years he started Solacity. Rob's background includes experience in electronics, software development, electrocardiology, medical decision support systems, and atmospheric dynamics (meteorology).   For Solacity Rob brings his passion for green energy, sustainable living, and technology to the table. Rob is originally from The Netherlands, and has over the years lived in Spain, Israel, and the USA, before finally settling in Canada.
