Canadian Solar

Need a quality panel at an affordable price? Look no further than CSI!

Founded in Canada in 2001, and incorporated in Canada, Canadian Solar operates as a global energy provider with successful business subsidiaries in 20 countries on 6 continents. Canadian Solar employs over 8,500 workers worldwide, with state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities in Canada, China, and Vietnam, selling over 30 million PV modules since 2001.

Canadian Solar promises high system energy yield and robust module construction, as well as superior system reliability. Their standard modules are powered by 125 x 125 mm or 156 x 156 mm high efficiency mono- or poly-crystalline solar cells, with their Dymond modules bragging a double glass structure (glass-on-glass) for added reliability and lower annual power degradation (no PID).

Canadian Solar modules all come with the regular 25-year warranty, and in addition (at no extra cost) they have third-party insurance on the warranty. That means even if CSI was to go away, and there is no sign of that happening, the warranty is still intact.

Their newest product line is a set of 3-phase 480 Volt inverters, in 23kW – 28kW – 36kW. What sets the inverters apart is the same bankability that their modules have (something that banks insist on when funding large solar projects), and the inverters can be derated & UL/CSA stickered to any Wattage. For locations that have output constraints this allows one to hit the allowed output power rating exactly.

We visited Canadian Solar’s Guelph PV plant several times and it is a very impressive sight to behold! Everything is automated using robots, with nearly no manual tasks left. That ensures very consistent quality. Talking about quality; along the production line the cells and modules are checked a number of times for micro-cracks, output etc. CSI makes good modules!

Solacity is a stocking distributor of Canadian Solar PV modules, and we can help you in selecting the proper product for your application.
