This kit is a substantial upgrade from the smaller cottage kits, and it in turn can be extended if (even) more is needed. The listed configuration contains 10 kWh in lithium-ion energy storage (and if money is tight, this can be lowered to 5 kWh), 3,280 Watt in solar PV, and a 6 kW all-in-one inverter that produces 240 Volt split-phase out-of-the-box. This kit, as listed, is great for those that need around 3 kWh in energy use per average day year-around, or 7 kWh per average day for spring-through-fall. If you need more just talk to us, there is lots of room to grow!

You can expect this kit to produce around 7.7  kWh/day in summer, and 3.4 kWh/day in winter (assuming panels mounted facing south, with good sun exposure, at a steep tilt-angle for winter, and kept snow-free). This is usable energy, after taking the inverter overhead into account. More solar panels can be added if needed, all the way up to 20, which would make for 8,200 Watt in solar PV. More batteries can be added as well, up to and including as many as your wallet will allow!

This kit includes:

This kit has all the parts needed for a functional system, except for the racking to mount the solar panels on. We can design and supply that as well. This kit makes for a substantial off-grid system. If you are looking for a code-compliant system please talk to us; the components are CSA-listed and it may be possible in some locales to pass inspection with this, but this is not a guarantee as it was not designed with that in mind. We can also provide a code-compliant off-grid system, designed to your needs, though those are far more expensive.

This kit includes lithium-ion batteries with build-in heater. When the battery temperature falls below freezing the build-in heater will kick in and heat up the battery before it will charge. This allows the system to be used in locations that see freezing temperatures.

Our kits include pure-sine inverters. These produce a clean sine wave that runs all AC equipment (unlike the much-cheaper modified sine wave inverters). The inverters can provide twice as much power for a short duration, so starting motors (i.e. well pump) and compressors (i.e. fridge) is no problem. The Lux Power SNA inverter produces 240 Volt split-phase AC, which means you can power both 120V and 240V loads with it.
