The VictronOrion-Tr 12/12-18A DC-to-DC converters is a solution when an fully isolated Voltage is needed that is constant. The input is a 8 – 17 Volt source such as a 12V battery, the output Voltage can be adjusted from 10 to 15 Volt DC (and is isolated from the input source). The maximum load it can power is 18 Amp.
The Orion converters have an input for a switch, that acts as a remote on-off. They are non-isolated (the input and output share the same negative).
Please note that Victron’s converters are not charge controllers! They produce a constant output Voltage.
