Volthium EQP-VOL-C58.4V9A

The Volthium EQP-VOL-C58.4V9A is a charge controller that plugs into any 120V AC outlet, and charges 48 Volt lithium-ion batteries (LiFePO4). The maximum charge current is 9 Amp, and it will output a Voltage even when no battery is present, making it ideal for “dead battery” charging.

This is the charger you need when your 48V lithium battery has ‘switched off’ due to a low state-of-charge. When that happens the BMS of the battery will disconnect it, the battery’s output Voltage goes to 0V, and the BMS will not switch back on again unless and until it sees a charging Voltage (56 Volt). The Volthium EQP-VOL-C58.4V9A charger will do just that, making the BMS switch back on, and it will of course also charge up the battery.

This can be a life-saver when your off-grid system was discharged just a little too deeply, and you need a 56V source to make the Battery Management System switch the system back on again!
